Hello, I would like to introduce myself as a candidate for Managing Member of the Pleasure Point Marina LLC. I’m Jeff Cooper, and my wife, Barbara, and I moved to Big Bear full-time in December 2014. We rented our first boat dock at PPM in the summer of 2015 and purchased our membership in November of 2015.

I am currently employed by Northrop Grumman Corporation, out of Redondo Beach, CA. Barbara and I are part of the legacy TRW Space Corporation that was purchased by NGC. I am fortunate enough to be able to work from home 100% of the time so my commute to work is very short.

I have over 30 years’ experience in the aerospace business, holding management positions in Logistics Engineering, Material Management, Cost Estimating and Pricing, Program Cost and Schedule Management and Business Management. I have a strong understanding of the bid and proposal process, the review and approval of subcontracts, the management of sub contracts from a cost and schedule point of view, as well as a broad back ground in business and operations management.

Prior to moving to Big Bear, Barbara and I lived in a small gated community of 29 homes in Torrance, CA. We bought our new home in 2001 and I was elected Treasurer on the HOA Board. I set a financial plan in place, and along with reserve studies we built our financial reserves to over $180,000 when I left in 2014. We accomplished that with relatively low HOA dues ($245/mo) and the dues only increased $50 over the 13 year period. Of course it is easy to get things right when you start new, and I feel as though the marina is taking steps to try to start anew. With strong and transparent leadership at the helm, and with solid, well thought- out plans in-place, executing to the plans will be the primary goal for the marina to succeed.

As a Managing Member, I believe I can bring my experiences, along with a fresh perspective to build upon all the hard work that has been accomplished over the past few years, and move forward in a positive and productive manner. Barbara and I are in this for the long-haul and we want to see the marina not only succeed, but grow in potential and capability.
